On April 8, Asia Middle East Forum (AMEF), in collaboration with MASAT and the Rectorate of Istanbul University, conducted a seminar for HE Dato’ Sri Idris Bin Jusoh, Minister of High Education on: Redesigning Higher Education: A Malaysian Perspective.
The event started by remarks from Dr Muhammad Makram, president of AMEF, about the vision and mission of the Forum and remarks from Muhammad bin Zayd, president of MASAT, before giving the floor for Dr Omer Faruq Korkmaz, Advisor of Turkish Prime Minister.
Then HE dilevered his presentation about the Malaysian experience in reforming higher education and the necessity of this action in other Muslim countries. HE proposed a new method for evaluating students called ICGPA: Integrated CGPA and invited fellow Muslim higher education institutions to follow this method.
The event was concluded when Dr Makram handed HE, Rector of Istanbul University and Dr Omer Faruq tokens of appreciation on behalf of the Forum.
